"Hot Pink Flamingos" Takes Wing in March 2010

Gangly flamingos, playful Magellanic penguins, young green sea turtles and colorful coral reef creatures share the stage in "Hot Pink Flamingos: Stories of Hope in a Changing Sea," a compelling new special exhibition opening March 29, 2010.

Through the eyes of remarkable wildlife, visitors will learn about the many ways that climate change is affecting ocean animals – and encounter tales of hope involving people and communities that are tackling climate change and making a difference.

Acclaimed International Ocean Film Festival Moving to Monterey Peninsula

The BLUE Ocean Film Festival & Conservation Summit will relocate its global ocean-focused event to the Monterey Peninsula beginning in 2010, festival officials announced today (Wednesday, December 16) at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The initial Monterey festival – with the aquarium as the presenting sponsor – is planned for August 25-29, 2010.

Discover the mysteries of seahorses and their kin in "The Secret Lives of Seahorses,” our newest special exhibition. More than 15 species of seahorses, sea dragons, pipehorses and pipefish entice visitors into their elusive world.
