Monterey Bay Aquarium has received a $250,000 donation from longtime Business Sponsor Bank of America toward the aquarium’s six-year, $125 million “Fund for the Oceans” campaign.

This gift brings the total raised during the campaign to $121 million.

The donation will support a range of programs at the nonprofit aquarium and ocean conservation organization, including free programs for schoolchildren and teachers, field studies to protect threatened ocean wildlife and new exhibits to help inspire visitors to protect the oceans.

“We are so grateful to Bank of America for this significant gift,” said Aquarium Executive Director Julie Packard. “The bank has been a friend and donor since we opened. Their donation, along with other individual and business support, provides essential funding to make our programs possible.”

The mission of the Monterey Bay Aquarium is to inspire conservation of the oceans.
