Julie Packard Honored with 'Ocean Hero Award'

Aquarium director Julie Packard receives the 2004 Ted Danson Ocean Hero Award from Oceana, a leading ocean conservation organization. Julie is recognized for her role in dramatically advancing marine conservation education in her role as executive director of the Aquarium and for her work with the David and Lucile Packard Foundation in support of environmental organizations.
This is the second year the Ocean Hero award has been presented. In 2003, Jean-Michel Cousteau was the first recipient of the honor. Oceana is a nonprofit international advocacy organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the world's oceans.
