Center for Ocean Solutions is Born

Stanford University, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI) join forces to create the Center for Ocean Solutions, a new collaboration that brings together international experts in marine science and policy to find innovative ways to protect and restore the world's oceans.
The David and Lucile Packard Foundation provides a $25 million grant to establish the new center in Monterey, near the Aquarium. Although based in California, the center will confront problems that affect oceans worldwide, including climate change and overfishing.
