First Mola

August 1986
Our first ocean sunfish (Mola mola) arrives in the Monterey Bay Habitats exhibit. This strange-looking circular fish can reach a length of 10 feet and weigh more than a ton. In future years, the mola will take its place among the inhabitants of the Outer Bay exhibit.
