SORAC to the Rescue

April 1989
Aquarium sea otter staff go to Alaska to help in response to the Exxon Valdez oil spill, and two sea otter pups are brought to the Aquarium. In August, after being cared for by Aquarium staff and volunteers, they find a permanent home at the Vancouver Aquarium—one success story in the battle to save Alaskan otters from the disastrous effects of the oil spill.
