The Bay's an Open Book

December 1989
The first two volumes in the Aquarium's natural history book series, Kelp Forests and Elkhorn Slough, make their debut. The books allow readers to discover more about the varied sea life and habitats of Monterey Bay. The series eventually grows to nine volumes, including Sharks and Rays of the Pacific Coast and Sea Otters (1990), Gray Whales (1991), Seashore Life on Rocky Coasts (1993), Seals and Sea Lions (1994), Octopus and Kin (1996) and The Deep Sea (1999).
