![]() Modified Tank Top for JelliesDeveloping a tank design to meet a jelly's needs was a problem when the Aquarium decided to display jellies. The solution lay in modifying the design of a German marine biologist, who had developed a tank in the 1960s to hold plankton. He called it a kreiselGerman for "child's spinning top"because of its circular shape and the rotation water makes as it flows through the tank. Further altered by our aquarists, it's the basic design that houses some of our jellies today. |
