Tunas are some of the key animals planned for the huge, new Outer Bay exhibit. The Aquarium acquires the "Tunabago," a sophisticated, 3,000-gallon tuna transport tank and life-support vehicle, which allows aquarists to truck tunas safely north to the Aquarium after they're landed near San Diego. Aquarium scientists constantly refine ways to collect and transport animals, find the right foods, and design exhibits that meet the animals' needs so that they can be exhibited in good health. |
