From the beginning, conservation is at the heart of all the Aquarium does—from innovative live exhibits to cutting-edge research, education programs and award-winning publications. As human activity puts marine ecosystems increasingly in peril, we make a renewed commitment to raise public awareness about ocean conservation issues. Our mission statement is refined to become more concise, accessible, and to-the-point: The mission of the Monterey Bay Aquarium is to inspire conservation of the oceans.
