We Count Our Blessings

Celebrating our 15th anniversary, we reach a 1999 attendance of 1,850,487 visitors. Our membership program serves more than 171,000 individuals who are part of the Aquarium family. We welcome our one-millionth student in our visiting school group program, and 90,000 schoolchildren from all over California are admitted free of charge. We have 895 volunteers. The Aquarium is a self-sustaining institution fully supported by its community, fulfilling the vision of its founders, David and Lucile Packard.
