Hello, Hippocampus

May 2001
Saving Seahorses spotlights several Hippocampus species, including the tiger tail, longsnout, dwarf and potbelly seahorses. These captivating fishes live in coral reefs, sea grass beds, estuaries and mangrove forests—four of the most important and imperiled coastal habitats in the world.

Saving Seahorses

People collect seahorses for souvenirs, home aquariums and traditional medicine, and human activities are destroying their fragile habitats. Our captive-reared seahorses find homes at other Aquariums for exhibits that continue to spread their conservation message.
