An award-winning chef, restaurateur, cookbook author and television personality, Rick has done more than any other culinary leader to introduce Americans to authentic Mexican cuisine. He has been honored multiple times by the James Beard Foundation as well as by the International Association of Culinary Professionals and has garnered acclaim from top food media throughout his career. An outspoken and influential advocate of sustainable cuisine, Rick was the 2006 Cooking for Solutions Chef of the Year and 2010 Educator of the Year. He is also the founder of the Frontera Farmer Foundation, which supports small local farmers and has been active in Share Our Strength, the nation's largest hunger advocacy organization.
