Alton is a kitchen science expert, James Beard award-winning cookbook author and television personality. He is the resident food historian, scientist and commentator on the Food Network series "Iron Chef America" and is the host/judge on "The Next Iron Chef." He created and stars in the Peabody award-winning "Good Eats," a smart and entertaining show that blends wit with wisdom, history with pop culture and science with common cooking sense. In 2011 Alton was a James Beard Award winner for TV Food Personality/Host for "Good Eats." An avid scuba diver, Alton is a vocal advocate for ocean-friendly seafood and was the 2009 Cooking for Solutions Educator of the Year.
