As the daughter of esteemed cookbook editor Maria Guarnaschelli, Alex spent her childhood surrounded by food. She worked at top restaurants in France, New York and Los Angeles prior to becoming Executive Chef at Butter Restaurant and opening The Darby, her modern spin on a retro New York supper club. Alex is the star of The Food Network's "Alex's Day Off"; a regular judge on "Chopped" and has made numerous national television appearances including "The Today Show," CBS's "The Early Show" and "The Rachael Ray Show." A frequent contributor to top food publications, including Saveur and Food & Wine magazine, Alex is currently working on her first cookbook. In her spare time she supports a number of charities and is a member of the Southern Foodways Alliance, Chefs Collaborative and Les Dames D'Escoffier.
