Decorator Crab Eating
Decorator crabs eat algae, sponges and shellfish, grasping them with their sharp claws. These crafty crabs also fasten pieces of seaweed, algae, sponges and other creatures to their backs. These "decorations" take hold and grow and soon the crabs are perfectly hidden in their rocky homes.
The crabs recycle these living decorations during the molting process, removing the decorations from their old shells and using them to decorate their new shells.
