We're Celebrating Sustainability All Year Long

We've spiced up the recipe for our 14th annual Cooking for Solutions celebration with new events and festivities throughout the year! Now there are more ways than ever for you to connect with chefs, farmers, winemakers and food artisans—at the Aquarium and beyond.

We're hosting not one but two celebration weekends featuring tasting stations, cooking demonstrations and other engaging programs and activities. We'll continue many of your favorite events, like our Food & Wine Adventures, and we're bringing back many of your favorite celebrity chefs for intimate food and wine events, salons and cooking demos. We're also going to take Cooking for Solutions to you, with culinary events around northern California and collaborations with chefs and conservation partners around the country.

Join The Hess Collection and the Aquarium in Napa Valley for a special day with The Hess Collection's executive chef, Chad Hendrickson, and its sustainable winemaking team, plus special guest chefs Michael Cimarusti (Providence and Connie and Ted's, Los Angeles) and Justin Cogley (Aubergine, Carmel). This unique food and wine event—served in the winery's world-class contemporary art gallery—features ingredients grown right on the vineyard, and tastings of small lot releases offered only at the winery.

Sustainable Foods Celebration: World Oceans Day

This fun-filled weekend focuses on sustainable and organic food from land and sea. There will be food events, tastings and cooking demonstrations throughout the Aquarium for the whole family, plus a special presentation of the Paul Walker Ocean Leadership Award.

We'll also host ticketed events for Aquarium members and the public: Talk & Taste programs with celebrity chefs; Food & Wine Adventures throughout Monterey Bay; and Saturday evening programs including the Amuse-Bouche and The Party with music, dancing, food and culinary celebrities.

This weekend of food events, tastings and cooking demonstrations throughout the Aquarium for the whole family will emphasize making ocean-friendly seafood choices during October, National Seafood Month. Activities will connect our choices of the foods we eat with the health of the soil, water and ocean.

We'll also host ticketed events for Aquarium members and the public: Talk & Taste programs with celebrity chefs; Food & Wine Adventures throughout Monterey Bay; and Saturday evening programs including the Amuse-Bouche and The Party with music, dancing, food and culinary celebrities.

Summer Weekends (Saturdays and Sundays)

Extended summer hours until 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays allow you to explore our exhibit galleries without the daytime crowds. You'll also enjoy tastings from local Seafood Watch restaurant partners and sample sustainable wines. Enjoy beverages from a no-host bar and snacks from a special menu created by the Aquarium's culinary partner, Chef Cindy Pawlcyn. We'll have live music in a variety of styles each Saturday and live jazz from Monterey Jazz Festival musicians on Sundays.

Check back regularly for information on purchasing tickets, chef bios and additional details about the year-round lineup of Cooking for Solutions events, as we'll be adding new events all the time. There are special prices for Aquarium members, and some events are open only to members. In some cases, package prices are available when you purchase tickets for multiple events. A portion of the fee for some events is tax-deductible.
