Otters are cute, furry and among the most charismatic creatures in the wild. They're also in the spotlight as we celebrate Otter Days Saturday and Sunday, September 20 and 21.

Sept. 20–21 (Sat.–Sun.)

10 a.m.–6 p.m.

Included with Aquarium admission

There will be lots of family fun as you learn about these amazing creatures and what we can do to help them. Discover more about efforts to save California's threatened southern sea otter population by talking with our Sea Otter Program staff.

Here are just a few of the things you can do:

  • Join sea otter trackers on the Great Tide Pool deck for some otter spotting! Get your otter questions answered and search for sea otters swimming by.
  • Prepare to fall in love as you follow a single sea otter's journey—from stranding as an orphaned pup to rescue, care and release by Aquarium staff—in our newest auditorium program, "Luna: A Sea Otter's Story".
  • Meet our staff members who work with sea otters and learn how they care for them behind the scenes.
  • Attend otter feeding and training sessions.
