Web Cam Help

We use the latest streaming technology so you can enjoy the best video quality while watching animals on exhibit or in the bay. If you’re having trouble with our live web cams, please review these troubleshooting tips.

Operating Systems

Our live web cams are compatible with Windows 7+, Mac OS X 10.7+, Ubuntu 10+, Linux OS 11+ (64-bit), Android and iOS.

Internet Browsers

For best results, use an up-to-date version of Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari.


Please make sure you’ve got Adobe Flash Player installed or are using a browser that can play HTML 5 video. 

Internet Connection Speed

We recommend a minimum connection speed of 1+ Mbps, or Megabits per second. If the web cam plays but there are pauses, you’re either experiencing network congestion or exceeding your bandwidth, meaning you’re transferring too much data for your internet capacity. Our video streams are offered in multiple bitrates so it might help if you select a lower one (240p or 360p) from the player. To do this, hover over the word “Best” on Ustream cams or click “Settings” on YouTube cams.

When using a mobile device, we recommend you connect to a Wi-Fi network, instead of a 3G or 4G network, for the best experience.
