You can use our six colorful natural history posters of different animal habitats for many fun activities at home or in the classroom.

You can download page-size versions of the posters using the links on the right hand side of the page.

You will find more information about many of the animals and plants in the posters in our Animal Guide.

Habitat Posters

  1. Print out the poster(s) you want to use for the activity.
  2. Put on your "detective hat" and see how many creatures you can spot or identify on the poster. (Some of the posters have almost 50 different animals!) When you can't find any more, use the poster key to check your list. This is an easy activity to do in the car.
  3. Bring the poster with you on your next trip to the Aquarium and see how many poster animals you can find in our exhibits.

Activities for Teachers

Student Inquiry Our natural history posters can be used as a starting point for student inquiry. Students can generate questions and design investigations to find answers to their own questions related to living systems. You will find some ideas and sample questions in our Teacher Worksheet.
