Student learns about birds at the discovery labs
Location: Aquarium Learning Labs

Discovery Lab classroom programs provide students with a fun, hands-on introduction to some of Monterey Bay's most precious habitats and the animals that live there. All programs also include time for self-guided exploration of the Aquarium.

Group Information:

Minimum 15 students, maximum 25 students, preschool or transitional kinder

Maximum of 1 adult per student, plus teachers, allowed in each classroom (extra adults may meet the group after the program ends). Siblings not enrolled in the class with the reservation are not allowed to participate in the program.

Program Times and Schedule (Tues.–Fri.):

9:15 a.m. Program

  • 8:45 a.m. arrive at Hovden Way
  • 9–10 a.m. program
  • 11:30 a.m. lunch in the Aquarium picnic area

If you arrive after your designated arrival time, we may not be able to accommodate your students.

Feathered Families program at the Monterey Bay Aquarium

Feathered Families

This hour-long program begins with a pre-opening exploration of our Soaring with Seabirds exhibit, followed by engaging, hands-on activities in the Aquarium Learning Lab classroom. Students and their chaperones together explore how birds look after their young and how people and birds are alike and different. The program includes self-guided time at the Aquarium.
