Chef Kyle Connaughton and farmer, Katina Connaughton, are owners of Single Thread Farms Restaurant & Inn, a 55-seat restaurant with five exclusive suites. Kyle is a chef, cookbook author and innovator. He is also a consulting culinary educator for the Culinary Institute of America and is co-founder of the culinary science development firm, Pilot R+D. Kyle's new book, Donabe: Classic and Modern Japanese Clay Pot Cooking, on Donabe Cooking was released this fall. Katina is a culinary gardener and farmer with training that includes farm and garden work in Hokkaido, one of Japan's agricultural epicenters, and work as a culinary gardener and chef in the UK for a private Victorian estate complete with greenhouses, vegetable gardens and heirloom orchards. Katina now turns her attention to developing and running Single Thread Farms, which includes oversight of fruit and vegetable gardens, heirloom orchards, over 100 olive trees, beehives and heritage breed chickens, which all drive the menu at Single Thread Restaurant.
