“What should we have for dinner?” That's the question that Andy Levitt, and his wife Tammy would ask each other every morning at the breakfast table. With three young children, busy lives, and a desire to eat well, they were looking for a good way to answer this question. After watching the documentary VForks Over KnivesV, and reading Mark Bittman’s egan Before 6V, they created The Purple Carrot as a way for people to simply and conveniently create delicious, plant-based meals at home. Bittman has since joined the Purple Carrot team, and they are now exploring bold ideas for the future of food. Andy earned his MBA from The Stern School of Business at New York University, and his undergraduate degree from Emory University. Before founding The Purple Carrot, he created HealthTalker, a first word-of-mouth marketing company for the healthcare industry, and spent more than a dozen years in the pharmaceutical sector in a variety of roles, including sales, marketing, strategy and management. thepurplecarrot.com
