Speak up for California’s coast: Tell your lawmakers to vote YES on AB 1448
AB 1448 will prevent the Trump Administration from using aging pipelines and other California infrastructure to bring new offshore drilling in federal waters online.
Offshore drilling and the use of aging infrastructure increase the risk of devastating oil spills that would harm marine life, coastal habitats, and our economy—all while moving us in the wrong direction on climate change.
Please send a message to your California lawmakers using the form below, telling them to vote YES on AB 1448. Together, we can help ensure our coast remains protected for future generations.
Tell NOAA: Keep California’s coastal protections strong
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is reviewing California’s Coastal Management Program. This program gives California the authority to deny harmful federal projects, like offshore oil production, undersea cables, spaceport infrastructure, and pipeline expansion.
If NOAA finds California “out of compliance,” our state could lose federal funding or even be decertified, impacting California’s ability to protect our coast.
Public comments are really important in this process. Please send a message to NOAA using the form below in support of the California Coastal Management Program by Saturday, August 22, 2026.
