Social Sustainability Advisory Group

Promoting fair labor in the seafood industry

Sustainable seafood comes from fisheries and aquaculture operations that minimize harmful environmental impacts, ensure good and fair working conditions, and support livelihoods and economic benefits throughout the entire supply chain.

The Social Sustainability Advisory Group helps the Aquarium explore ways to promote a human rights-based approach to sustainability. This group of academics, human rights professionals, seafood social equity professionals, economists, and others provides valuable strategic guidance and expertise as we continue to help transform how seafood is fished and farmed so that people and the planet can thrive for the long-term.
