This beginner-friendly class blends gentle yoga, mindful breathing, and the mesmerizing beauty of the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s largest exhibit. Sink into full mind-and-body relaxation with your yoga mat positioned before the Open Sea exhibit window as tuna speed past, sardines swirl in glittering schools, and sea turtles cruise through softly-lit blue water.
Frequently asked questions
What do I need to bring to the class?
Please bring a yoga mat, towel, and water bottle. The Open Sea exhibit can get chilly so we suggest bringing layers and dressing in comfortable clothes. We won't have extra yoga mats available. This class is only for adults ages 18 and up, so please remember to bring your ID.
I have never done yoga before. Can I still go to this class?
Yes! This class is meant for all yoga experience levels, including beginners.
Where do I enter the Aquarium for this class?
Please meet at our Hovden Way entrance, located on Cannery Row near the Main Entrance of the Aquarium. A member of our team will greet you and escort you to our Open Sea exhibit. We encourage you to arrive 20 minutes early to check in.
Can I still enter if I am running late?
We’ll allow a five-minute grace period for anyone who is running late, but after that, the doors will be closed. There are no refunds for late arrival, and tickets cannot be exchanged for another date.
Can I get a refund if I can’t attend?
No, tickets are non-refundable and can't be exchanged.
Is there parking available?
There’s no designated parking for this event. Street parking is available, and there are parking garages located throughout Cannery Row. We recommend you arrive 20 minutes early to have extra time to find parking.
Does my reservation grant me access to the Aquarium?
A reservation grants you access to the Open Sea wing to participate in the 50-minute class. You will have 15 minutes after class to enjoy the Open Sea exhibit and Jelly Gallery before you’re escorted out. You won’t have access to other areas of the Aquarium.
Tickets are currently sold out. When will more tickets be available?
We release tickets on a regular basis, but reservations are limited and classes may sell out. Stay tuned and check this page for the most up-to-date reservation information.
