Sarcastic fringehead wallpaper

Introducing the sarcastic fringehead. These fin-tastically named fish spend most of their time motionless, with their wavy cirri adorned head protruding from their favorite hole or crevice. As ambush predators, they lie still until prey swims by and then they leap into action. Despite their stoic demeanor, sarcastic fringeheads are known to be aggressively territorial and fierce defenders of their home. 

No matter the size of the intruder, sarcastic fringehead will vehemently protect their space by rapidly expanding their massive mouths lined with needle-like teeth in an intimidating display. Males of the species battle for territory by fiercely sizing up each other’s mouths to see which is larger—a determinant of dominance.
