Field trips for home-based school, independent study, etc.

Reservations open on October 14.

Bring your family on an educational field trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium through our Waves of Learning program! This program is designed for families whose children are educated outside of a traditional, seat-based school. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Students enrolled in a home-based private school with a private school affidavit
  • Students enrolled with a private school satellite program
  • Students receiving instruction by a credentialed, private tutor
  • Students enrolled in an independent study program

Program information

There will be four program days throughout the school year. Each day includes Aquarium admission and optional staff-led experiences. There is no charge for this program.

Optional staff-led experiences

The following experiences are optional and open to all ages; they can be added when you book your field trip. Recommended ages are based on content to help families choose what fits their needs.

Kelp Forest Connections Lab
