This one-hour Head Start program engages students, families, and teachers in fun, hands-on activities exploring ocean habitats and animals. Through movement, singing, and animal props, participants build an appreciation for the ocean while sharing memorable experiences together. Optional self-guided time at the Aquarium is included.
Program times and schedule
To guarantee a seamless experience please plan travel time accordingly.
60 minutes + self-guided time
9 a.m. program
8:45 a.m. arrive at Hovden Way
11–11:30 a.m. lunch in the Aquarium picnic area
Group information
Up to 2 classes, maximum 50 students
- Maximum of 1 adult per child, including teachers allowed in each program.
- Siblings not enrolled in the class with the reservation aren't allowed to participate in the program.
Program topic
Rocky Shore and Kelp Forest
This bilingual experience in English and in Spanish invites preschoolers and their caring adults to connect with and learn about the Rocky Shore and Kelp Forest ocean habitats.
Participants will dive into interactive activities involving pretend play and music to learn about some of the amazing animals living in the Rocky Shore and Kelp Forest. Students will engage in animal movement, a scavenger hunt, practice their counting, and have opportunities to touch live animals!
