Program details
Ocean Learning Adventures is designed to get young people excited about their connections to the ocean. In the Ocean Learning Adventures (OLAs) week-long day camp, we'll explore a variety of environments and strengthen our connection to water.
Through unique hands-on learning experiences at and near the Aquarium, we'll dive deeper into the environmental connections around us, the natural relationships that hold us together, and the interconnectedness of seemingly different ecosystems. Together we’ll build a caring community that prioritizes wellbeing and safety while pushing ourselves to try new things, including supervised water activities.
OLAs is for all young people and is conducted bilingually (both English and Spanish). There is no language requirement—we welcome students of all backgrounds and identities. We encourage students to apply to the camp that feels right to them.
Camps are free, and transportation is provided from community locations in Watsonville, Salinas, Marina, and Seaside. Selections are made on a lottery system designed to ensure camps are representative of the demographics of Monterey County.
