Angela Jakubiec
Vice President of Finance
Angela provides leadership for the organization’s Financial Planning and Analysis function, overseeing financial reporting and management tools and leading the implementation of enhanced financial systems in close collaboration with the technology team
Angela began her career in finance at the University of California, San Diego, supporting the San Diego Supercomputer Center, and went on to a 20-year career with The Nature Conservancy, starting in grants management in Georgia and culminating as the global organization’s Associate Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.
Her work focused on water-related conservation, including aquatics programs across the Southeast, fisheries initiatives in California, and projects in Hawaii supporting native species, local oceans, and the communities that depend on them.
From the start, her finance work has been rooted in supporting mission-driven programs through financial leadership, mentorship, and technology—helping teams navigate financial resources clearly and with confidence.
My love of the ocean started with freshwater—and a childhood spent on lakes in the Midwest. Arriving in Southern California and the sunny, sandy beaches of San Diego was a revelation. My son and I spent countless hours, across seasons and years, with the sun, sand, and surf as both backdrop and focal point. I cherish not only the joy of being in the water and the wonder of ocean life, but also the vital, unseen benefits the ocean provides—from supporting biodiversity and producing oxygen to regulating climate and cooling the planet.
