In partnership with the Development division’s leadership team, Soo also helps to grow the major gifts (gifts of $100,000 or more) and legacy giving programs to ensure ongoing support for the Aquarium’s programs. She has worked closely with donors and now leads efforts to increase member and donor engagement and fundraising. Working with the Chief Development Officer, Soo leads the division’s operations, including annual planning, setting revenue goals, developing strategies, and expense budgets

"I’m grateful to have started at the entry-level position as a Guest Services representative back in 2000 soon after I arrived in the U.S. and had the opportunity to grow within the organization. This truly speaks to the values the Monterey Bay Aquarium holds and its investment in developing and growing staff. I’m especially grateful for the many amazing mentors I have had over the past 22+ years who not only helped build my career in fundraising and membership but also helped me become a better person."
